About Alexis

The best things in life are free.  Everyday of my own manifests this. Long before day one, I have been destined to a path of higher life, where trophies of grace will be all I have to show for it.
I am a daughter, a sister, and a best friend to amazing people. I love Jesus, coffee, cats, writing, and the mountains; and one of my ideas of a good day would be found on the porch swing with a good book. The Lord has given me a passion for people and taking His Gospel to the nations. Only God knows the endless possibilities that lie in each of us. I have been told to trust, and have even been given examples of His faithfulness in the Word, and in my own life as well. It is a Grace-filled life that I live.
The freedom I have been awakened to has only been found through times of obedience to Christ. For lovers of Him, to be free, is to be obedient. It is there that I learn the beauty of endings, for yet they are only beginnings. Only in light of another kingdom, another world, another way of seeing this world, does happiness seem possible in every daily cause. There isn't a more beautiful reminder of this truth, than that which is given to us every morning, and every evening- the rising and setting of the sun. One of my favorite authors, Elisabeth Elliot, writes about "tracing the sign of the cross." This can be found in every cycle of nature; when we do this it fills us with Hope as we watch it unfold. The grain of a wheat field dies, and the harvest results. The sun dies in the west, and yet it rises in the east. We live and die in Christ, and there is always a resurrection. May I learn only more, to trace the sign of the cross.

If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him;
if we endure, we will also reign with Him;
if we deny Him, He will also deny us;
if we are faithless, He remains faithful
2 Timothy 2:11-13
